This study aims to provide an overview of the implementation of the code of ethics and professionalism of school counselors based on the perceptions of Grade IX-4 students at UPT SMPN 12 Medan. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, using a questionnaire as the primary data source and an interview with the school counselor as supporting qualitative data. The questionnaire used a five-point Likert scale covering five aspects: confidentiality and privacy, respect for students, competence and professionalism, integrity and responsibility, and professional relationship boundaries. The results showed that the overall implementation of the code of ethics and professionalism of the school counselor was categorized as good, with a mean score of 3.86. Respect for students obtained the highest mean score of 3.94, while competence and professionalism obtained the lowest mean score of 3.73. Although competence and professionalism had the lowest mean score, it remained in the good category and needs to be continuously developed in accordance with the needs and development of Guidance and Counseling services. The interview findings also supported these results through the implementation of services based on student assessments and needs, protection of confidential information, efforts to improve professional competence, case referral, prioritization of student well-being, and maintenance of professional boundaries. The findings indicate that the implementation of the code of ethics and professionalism of the school counselor based on student perceptions was in the good category and can still be improved through continuous evaluation and professional development.
