Implementation of Selected Assumptions of the Industry 4.0 Concept for the Clothing Sector—The Case of a Personalized Women’s Dress

The contemporary apparel sector requires manufacturers to adapt efficiently to rapidly evolving market trends. Digital technologies and the automation of production processes play a key role in this regard, facilitating increased speed and efficiency in clothing production. Industry 4.0 focuses on sustainable development, digitization, and personalization, integrating human creativity with modern technologies. This article presents the potential application of selected Industry 4.0 principles in the apparel industry, using the example of the design and production of a personalized women’s dress. The project was implemented using natural fiber fabrics, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development, and analyzing their thermal insulation properties. The process used digital garment modeling and virtual sewing in a CLO3D environment, which reduced the number of physical prototypes. The product was manufactured using modern, programmed sewing machines, reducing labor intensity and strengthening human–technology collaboration. It is also worth noting that the women’s dress, developed in accordance with the Industry 4.0 concept, is a product personalized according to the user’s specific needs.
