Social Media Use and Perceived Experiences in Romantic Relationships Among Undergraduates at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria
This non-peer-reviewed research paper presents a descriptive questionnaire study conducted in 2023 among undergraduates at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. It was developed from the author’s undergraduate Mass Communication project and reports social media use, romantic communication practices, and perceived relationship experiences. The project reported 395 respondents recruited through initial departmental contact and wider voluntary online circulation. Reported frequencies are preserved; percentages are recalculated from the aggregate counts. The paper acknowledges nonprobability sampling, measurement ambiguities, and the limits of aggregate self-report data. The manuscript was revised in 2026 with an updated, verified literature review. It has not undergone journal peer review.
