Hip Fracture Registry and Audit Readiness in Southeast Asia: A Scoping Review and Public-Evidence Implementation Gap Map

Hip-fracture registries and audit systems support feedback, benchmarking, and quality improvement, but the public visibility of this infrastructure across Southeast Asia is unclear. This review mapped publicly identifiable registry readiness, audit, care quality, and secondary prevention evidence for hip-fracture care across Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. We conducted a scoping review and public-evidence implementation gap map across the 10 ASEAN member states.Searches covered PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) and were supplemented by grey-literature searches.Included sources were evaluated against registry readiness and care quality audit domains, and country-domain evidence was scored from publicly traceable evidence.Of 1,294 records identified, 810 unique records were screened, 122 sources were sought, 111 were assessed and 59 were included in the final evaluation.Evidence was strongest in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, but consisted of different infrastructure types: historical national registry evidence, multicentre databases, institutional registries, linked administrative data, hospital audits, and fracture liaison service datasets. No eligible, publicly accessible recurring annual hip-fracture audit report or benchmarking output was identified for any included country.Publicly identifiable hip-fracture registry and audit evidence in Southeast Asia is emerging but uneven.A staged regional minimum dataset and transparent audit framework could help convert institutional experience into sustainable national and regional quality-improvement systems.
