Design and Development of Secure Authentication Protocol for Data Encryption in IoT
This paper devises a secure authentication technique in the Internet of Things (IoT) using the proposed Firefly Invasive Weed optimization (FIWO)-based authentication approach. The authentication technique devised for IoT allows secure communication among the devices. The proposed model comprises three entities, namely IoT devices, IoT servers and trusted centers (TC). These entities start with setup and initialization, registration, key generation, authentication, data encryption, validation, data sharing, and decryption before adding authentication and data encryption. In this case, the data is encrypted using the encryption function after the secret key is generated using the suggested FIWO technique. Here, the Firefly algorithm (FA) and Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO) are combined to create the suggested FIWO. Moreover, the proposed method has a computation time of 0.060 s, a detection rate of 92.51%, and a memory usage of 2.856 MB.
