Adenoid Hypertrophy in Children: Homoeopathic Repertorial Evaluation and Therapeutic Review
Abstract Adenoid hypertrophy (adenoiditis) is a common pediatric condition characterized by enlargement or chronic inflammation of the nasopharyngeal tonsil, causing airway obstruction and recurrent infections. This review focuses on the clinical features, diagnosis, and homoeopathic reportorial analysis of adenoid hypertrophy. Clinical repertories provide direct rubrics for adenoids, while basic repertories cover associated symptoms such as nasal obstruction, catarrh, postnasal discharge, hearing impairment, mouth breathing, and snoring. Important remedies identified include Agraphis nutans, Baryta carbonica, Calcarea phosphorica, Calcarea iodata, Mezereum, Sanguinaria nitrica , and Tuberculinum . Miasmatic analysis showed predominance of psoric and sycotic expressions. The findings suggest that clinical repertories are useful for disease-oriented evaluation, whereas basic repertories support individualized case analysis. An integrated approach using repertorial analysis with Materia medica supports individualized homoeopathic management of adenoid hypertrophy.
