Non-invasive functional neurosurgery revisited: The emerging role of MRgFUS in neuropsychiatric disorders
Magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) represents a conceptual shift in functional neurosurgery by integrating non-invasive precision lesioning and potential neuromodulation within a single, circuit-based platform for refractory neuropsychiatric disorders, although its clinical implementation requires controlled evidence, refined patient selection, and careful consideration of ethical and social perceptions.
