Bilateral conjunctival granulation tissue formation after EGFR inhibitor therapy for non-small cell lung carcinoma
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitors are increasingly used to treat malignancies such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We report a rare case of bilateral conjunctival granulation tissue formation associated with amivantamab-lazertinib therapy in a 75-year-old woman with stage IV NSCLC with an EGFR L858R mutation. The patient presented with progressively enlarging bilateral conjunctival lesions emanating from both the upper and lower eyelid fornices resulting in diminished peripheral vision. Surgical excision was performed, and histopathological examination revealed granulation tissue without evidence of malignancy. Clinicians should be aware of the spectrum of ocular manifestations associated with EGFR inhibitor therapy.
