DENTAL STATUS OF A PATIENT WITH CONNECTIVE TISSUE DYS-PLASIA: A CLINICAL CASE
Patients with connective tissue dysplasia frequently develop dentofacial anomalies, dental caries, periodontal disease, and other conditions due to collagen matrix in-sufficiency. The pathogenesis of these disorders is primarily linked to genetic mu-tations and impaired synthesis of collagen, a protein essential for the structural in-tegrity of bones, ligaments, gums, and enamel. According to various authors, the prevalence of connective tissue dysplasia and associated dental disorders can reach up to 80%. Standard dental treatments for these conditions often prove ineffective, necessitating alternative and personalized therapeutic approaches. With appropriate management, the prognosis can be favorable, provided a comprehensive approach is adopted that includes consultations with specialists in related fields, such as rheumatologists, cardiologists, and ophthalmologists.
