Gambaran Profil Minat Karier Mahasiswa Bimbingan Dan Konseling Berdasarkan Riasec

This study aimed to identify the career interest profiles of students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas Palangka Raya, cohorts 2024 and 2025, based on the RIASEC test results and to determine the most dominant career interest types. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey research design. The population consisted of 58 students, including 30 students from the 2024 cohort and 28 students from the 2025 cohort. A population research approach was used, meaning that all members of the population participated as respondents. Data were collected online through a closed-ended RIASEC questionnaire, supported by documentation. The data were analyzed using percentage analysis and presented through frequency distributions to describe the students’ career interest tendencies. The findings revealed variations in students’ career interest types based on combinations of the six RIASEC types: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. The most dominant types were Realistic–Social–Conventional (RSC) and Social–Conventional (SC), each involving 7 respondents or 11.29%. These findings indicate that the students tend to prefer activities involving social interaction, service, helping others, as well as structured, systematic, and organized work. Overall, the career interest profiles of students in the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Universitas Palangka Raya show a strong tendency toward the Social and Conventional dimensions. The findings can serve as a basis for students’ self-reflection and for developing career guidance and counseling services that are aligned with students’ career interest characteristics.
