The Effect of Using Image-Based Media Supported by Roblox Game Visualizations on Third-Grade Students’ Science Learning Outcomes

Low IPAS learning outcomes among third-grade students at a school in South Jakarta indicate a need for more engaging, interactive learning media. This study analyzes the impact of image-based media, supplemented by Roblox game visualization, on IPAS learning outcomes for the ecosystem components topic. The study used a quantitative, quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The sample included 62 students: 31 in the control group and 31 in the experimental group. Data collection was conducted using achievement tests, and the results were analyzed through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and an independent samples t-test. The mean post-test score for the control group was 70.06, whereas the experimental group achieved a mean score of 82.45. The hypothesis test yielded a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.005 (<0.05), resulting in the rejection of H₀ and the acceptance of H₁. These results indicate that the Roblox game-based visual learning medium significantly enhances IPAS learning outcomes for third-grade students. A recommendation for future researchers is to use the Roblox game “Grow a Garden” to conduct firsthand observations of the game's ecosystems and the relationships among their components.
