Budget Transparency and the Prevention of Fund Misuse in Student Organisations: A Citizenship Perspective on Civic Integrity
Misuse of student organisation funds often starts small. This article draws on two online interviews with student organisation leaders and a review of related studies on student organisation finance, nonprofit fraud, and citizenship. It suggests that clear budget reports, members who actually read them, and honest leaders can help prevent misuse. The article argues that guarding shared money honestly is a small but real way of practising citizenship.
