Standardized Inline Annotation for Grading Arguments Logically (SIAGAL) and the SIAGAL Argument Efficiency Metric

AbstractTraditional methods of evaluating logical essays are usually non-standardized and often focuson other aspects of the text than the logical validity of its arguments. This system ofstandardized annotation aims to bring an easily understandable system for annotatingarguments and texts based on their logic, with standardized markers for annotation directlycorresponding to mathematical values. It also allows the reviewer to add comment-likeannotations based on subjective feelings and views, which do not affect the grading of theessay. This paper introduces the Standardized Inline Annotation for Grading ArgumentsLogically (SIAGAL) and its companion formula, the SIAGAL Argument Efficiency Metric.
