Bioengineering solutions for endovascular embolization of abdominal solid organs in trauma
OBJECTIVE: To improve treatment outcomes in patients with solid organ injuries via analysis of various embolization materials in foreign and domestic researches. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The RSCI, Medline and PubMed databases were reviewed. CONCLUSION: Today, searching for new combined materials for embolization is an urgent problem due to widespread introduction of methods of interventional radiology and endovascular surgery. There is no a single "ideal" material with all necessary properties and suitable for all vessels and clinical cases. There is a need to find optimal embolization devices for different embolization zones in various diseases and injuries.
