LARGEVITY: An Integrative Bio-Psycho-Socio-Existential Framework of Experiential Latitude Across the Human Lifespan

LARGEVITY is a conceptual framework developed to examine human longevity not only in terms of chronological duration, but also in relation to the breadth, accessibility, realization, and subjective participation of experiences across the lifespan. The framework introduces Experiential Latitude (AE) as its central construct, defined as a multidimensional and temporally variable configuration comprising: P, concretely accessible experiential opportunities; R, experiences actually realized; and PA, the modes and quality through which experiences are subjectively participated in. Possible autobiographical integration (I) is examined separately as an associated temporal dimension rather than as a constitutive component of Experiential Latitude. LARGEVITY integrates and critically differentiates contributions from biopsychosocial, capability, ecological, participation, psychological richness, self-determination, resource, narrative identity, and resonance perspectives. It further introduces Regulatory Space (RS) and Existential Direction (D) as candidate explanatory constructs and conceptualizes Experiential Conversion as the relational process through which accessible possibilities may or may not become realized and subjectively participated experiences. The framework distinguishes chronological, phenomenological, and autobiographical temporalities and describes experiential expansion and compression as non-normative changes in an individual's experiential profile rather than as measures of personal worth or prescriptions to maximize activity. The paper formulates four falsifiable hypotheses concerning the discriminant and incremental validity of the framework, the explanatory contribution of RS and D, the non-equivalence of different temporal dimensions, and the heterogeneity of longitudinal experiential trajectories. It also outlines an initial empirical research program, Daily Experiential Latitude (DEL), including a proposed 28-day intensive longitudinal pilot study. LARGEVITY is presented as a conceptual and testable framework, not as an empirically validated theory or measurement instrument. Its constructs and propositions are intended to be subjected to empirical testing, comparison with existing theoretical models, refinement, and, where warranted by evidence, revision or rejection. Abstract

AI assistance disclosure: Generative AI tools were used as support for manuscript structuring, language refinement, bibliographic checking, and English translation. The conceptual framework, its theoretical propositions, conceptual distinctions, interpretation of the literature, and final intellectual content were reviewed and approved by the author, who assumes full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and content of the work.
