Efficient Data Acquisition for External Store Static Ejection Testing in Compliance with MIL-HDBK-1763
The efficient data acquisition system for static ejection test of external stores complied with the Test 110, MIL-HDBK-1763 is proposed and presented to obtain the reliable data of stores including ejection force versus time, exit velocity, and store attitude (roll, pitch, yaw, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] position) for the preliminary safe separation evaluation of external stores. The efficient data acquisition system consists of a data acquisition unit, Track62Cam in-house software, a geometrically calibrated high-speed camera system, and a synchronized triggering mechanism integrated with the release rack. The system achieves a position accuracy of 0.8 mm ([Formula: see text]) and an attitude accuracy of [Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]). Compared with conventional measurement approaches, such as onboard inertial sensors or dedicated optical tracking systems, which often suffer from limitations in cost, deployment complexity, and potential interference with the experimental configuration, the proposed system provides a nonintrusive and flexible alternative. The algorithms implemented in the Track62Cam software are developed to model the state estimation process from high-speed image data. An error propagation analysis is conducted to evaluate the impact of measurement noise on system accuracy. The accuracy of the proposed system is validated through reference measurements using laser distance measurement systems for position and AHRS units for attitude. In addition, a sensitivity analysis is performed to assess the operational limits of the system with respect to factors such as pixel noise, observation distance, and camera configuration. The proposed approach demonstrates the capability for noncontact, flexible, cost-effective, and high-accuracy state measurement, and is applicable to various store configurations in Test 110 of MIL-HDBK-1763.
