Tiny Ant Discourse on the Sage Dao: An Independent Chapter of Jing-Rong Philosophical Reflections
Jing-Rong Philosophical Reflections (JRPR) comprises a series of independent articles, dedicated to revealing original philosophical concepts and rules grounded in Reverence (Jìng) and Vital Harmony (Róng). Inquiring into the Dao of Sagehood is one of the supreme propositions in human philosophy; yet to this day, fundamental inquiry into its essence and inherent rules remains remarkably rare. This article, from the perspective of the Tiny Ant (Lóuyǐ), centers on the tenets of Reverencing the Heavenly Dao, Erecting Civilization, Promoting Human Confluent Harmony, and Transmitting the Spirit. Relying on original concepts such as Reverence and Value Law (Benefiting the Domain is Good), this inquiry unfolds philosophical reflections on the Dao of Sagehood across multiple dimensions: the essence and value of the Sage, the definition and discrimination of Words of Sagehood, the exposition of the dual attributes of the Sage, and Sage-Populace Homology. It presents philosophical insights into the essence, boundaries, and practical logic of the Dao of Sagehood, explicates its related inherent rules, and offers a few new perspectives for understanding and practicing the Dao of Sagehood.
