HOMOEOPATHIC THERAPEUTICS IN MIGRAINE: A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW
Migraine is a common neurological disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of headache associated with symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, photophobia, and phonophobia. It significantly affects the quality of life and functional capacity of affected individuals. Despite advancements in conventional management including triptans, gepants, CGRP monoclonal antibodies, and behavioral interventions many patients continue to experience incomplete relief, relapse, medication overuse headaches, or unacceptable side effects. These limitations have stimulated growing interest in complementary and holistic frameworks such as Homoeopathy, which aim to address patient individuality and symptom patterns in a more integrative manner. Available literature suggests that individualized homoeopathic treatment may help reduce the frequency, intensity, and recurrence of migraine attacks while improving overall well-being and quality of life. However, further high-quality clinical studies are required to strengthen the evidence base for its efficacy. This review provides an overview of the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnosis, and management of migraine, with particular emphasis on homoeopathic therapeutics.
