On new taxa in Entiminae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) from the Middle East, with some nomenclature notes on genera Araxia Khnzorian and Euplatinus Desbrochers
Kuglerius reuteri sp. n., from Iraq, and K. enigmaticus sp. n. from Iran are described. A new subgenus of Kuglerius Borovec & Friedman, 2009, Confusomias subgen. n. is erected to accomodate K. enigmaticus sp. n. A new genus Cenchropus gen. n. from Turkey is established to accomodate C. pratensis sp. n. It superficially resembles Kuglerius but actually it is a distinct genus due to a row of phylogenetically significant traits. Genera Leianisorhynchus Pic, 1905, Gyratogaster Daniel & Daniel, 1902, and Altonomus Desbrochers, 1907 (i.e. subtribe Mylacorrhinina Reitter, 1913) are excluded from the tribe Cyphicerini and placed in Entiminae incertae sedis (new placement). The systematic position of all these taxa is discussed. Altonomus linkorum sp. n. from Iraq is described. Aomidius Białooki, 2005 is synonym of Araxia Khnzorian, 1957 (syn. n.); both Araxia mucronata Khnzorian, 1957 and Aomidius digoriensis Białooki, 2005 are synonyms of Omias leonhardi Formanek, 1908 (both syn. n.), resulting in correct combination Araxia leonhardi (Formanek, 1908) (n. comb.). The specific epithet ascripticus applied to the species Euplatinus ascripticius Białooki, 2007 is erroneous and nomenclatorically unavailable.
