Comments on: Robust inference for step-stress experiments under interval-censoring

Abstract This work provides a concise presentation and discussion of the recent paper by Balakrishnan et al. (2026), entitled “Robust inference for step-stress experiments under interval-censoring”. After a presentation of its main achievements and the gaps in the respective literature that this outstanding paper successfully fills, potential collaborative applications of cumulative divergence-type measures to formulate, develop, and address problems in reliability and in step-stress experiments are noted.
