The influence of artificial intelligence on students’ academic performance through career aspiration emotional intelligence and psychological well being among secondary school students in Awi Zone
This study aimed to examine the Influences of Artificial Intelligence on students’ academic performance through Career Aspiration, Emotional Intelligence and Psychological Well-Being. A quantitative cross-sectional research design was employed, and data were collected from 200 students in secondary schools that have integrated Artificial Intelligence technologies into their tasks. A structured questionnaire comprising standardized measurement scales was used to assess Artificial Intelligence usage, emotional intelligence, career aspiration, psychological well-being, and students’ academic performance. Data were analysed using SPSS and AMOS through multiple regression analysis, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings revealed that Artificial Intelligence significantly; and positively influenced students’ performance and psychological well-being. Emotional intelligence and career aspiration also had significant positive effects on students’ academic performance. Furthermore, psychological well-being partially mediated the relationship between Artificial Intelligence and students’ academic performance. The study concludes that schools can enhance students’ academic performance by effectively implementing ‘‘Artificial Intelligence’’ technologies while fostering students' psychological well-being, emotional intelligence, and career aspirations.
