The Bounded Seal: A Forensic Structural Decipherment of the Indus Valley Script Administrative Corpus under the Cascade Nine Epistemic Framework
The Indus Valley Script (IVS), preserved across more than 5,644 surviving inscriptions from the Mature Harappan period (c. 2600–1900 BCE), presents severe unicity distance deficit. With an average inscription length of N = 4. glyph tokens against a theoretical Shannon unicity distance threshold o U_D \ge 18.4 tokens (N \ll U_D), traditional attempts to translate the inscriptions into continuous conversational prose violate fundamental information-theoretic channel capacities. This monograph delivers a mathematically formalized structural decipherment of the corpus under the Cascade Nine Epistemic Framework. Integrating recursive probabilistic inference, algebraic manifold verification, physical taphonomy, and sub-surface packaging kinematics, the framework provides an empirical method to isolate rule-bound administrative grammar from statistical noise in fragmented Bronze Age corpora.
