Dermatosurgical rounds: Schwenklappenplastik (nasolabial transposition flap) with transposition from the neighboring area in a patient with high-risk basal cell carcinoma in the ala nasi
A 72-year-old male presented to the dermatology department with a primary complaint of a tumorous formation, measuring 1.2×1.2 cm, protruding above the surrounding skin, with central ulceration and covered by a hemorrhagic crust. The lesion was located across multiple cosmetic subunits of the nasal ala, involving the left alar lobule and the inferior part of the left lateral nasal sidewall. Based on the clinical presentation, nodular basal cell carcinoma was suspected and surgical excision under local anesthesia was recommended. [...].
