HIOF • Ontological Fieldism — Paper IV: The Arc Window

Holographic Information Ontological Framework: Ontological Fieldism (HIOF-OF) Series description for HIOF-OF, Papers 0 and I-IV, Version 1.0. It states the boundary. It is not a replacement field theory, and it derives no new equation. The core idea, stated plainly The visible surface is often treated as the whole boundary, and the field is then placed outside it, as environment, medium, or another space. HIOF-OF reverses that classification. The field is part of the body. It is present for one body alone. Influence is the change established by overlap: a second body must be present, and its path must differ. A record is not the body. A document may note a person. The document is not that person. The older sentence, "where the influence reaches, the body is," is withdrawn. Empty surroundings contain no influence, because no second body is there. The field remains. What "self" means at a scale Cell, organ, body, group, society, and Earth are each a body in a larger field. Overlap does not cancel recognition. Self means the configuration maintained at that layer by a specified overlap, not the continuation of matter. If the Earth left the solar system, its matter and its own field could continue, and the body called Earth at this layer would end. What continued would be a planet, not the present terrestrial system. Two faces, not two storeys The universe is read as two faces of one energy-body, not a ladder and not a mirror. Emergence is scale: a configuration appears only when the cut reaches that layer. A single water molecule is not wet. Manifestation is order: accumulation changes first, and the configuration appears after. Stone and apple share a body and do not share a configuration. This is not the statement that a quantity is unchanged under time translation. The difference from quantum field theory is left to HIOF-tF. Consciousness is a name, not a cause Consciousness is the name of that order. It is not emergence, and it is not manifestation itself. No feeling, cognition, or self is added. A heated stone may bear the name. Under the name there is no mind. It is not a field, not a channel, and not a second cause. What a window reads An instrument reads a sum of influence, not an owner. Gravitational-wave detectors record strain, a change in the path of mirrors. The source is inferred from a signature and provisionally filed. The filing is a record, and records can be revised. A wave on the way is already part of the source's body. It has not yet influenced until a second body changes path. After a merger, the original layers may end, and the slice of field along the wave remains. A difference between ADM mass and Bondi mass keeps the account of what the radiation carried. It does not move ownership. Hidden content is a shadow on a screen, not a completed interior behind a shut door. Change the ruler, and the outline changes. The body does not. What the five papers cover Paper 0 fixes the words and four prohibitions: do not cancel a clock reading; do not rewrite entanglement as a signal; do not treat a renaming as a definition; do not admit consciousness into the causal order. Paper I argues that the visible surface is not the preset boundary. Paper II treats nested bodies, proper time as a body's change, and the ruler. Paper III restricts consciousness to the name of order. Paper IV treats the arc window. The window decides the record. It does not decide the field. Where this series sits HIOF-IF asks what content the name "information" has. HIOF-OF asks what a body is. HIOF-tF asks how far field language may be used. None is the premise of the others. The junction is influence that has already shown. Ownership and the name consciousness are not outputs of a calculation. A note on method The series separates borrowed standard writings, original demarcations, and examples that do not rise to axioms. Neighbours are named and distanced: Faraday and Boscovich, field ontology, priority monism, relational quantum mechanics, and physiological individuality. The two cuts claimed here are the separation of field from influence, and the ending of a layer's self without the ending of its field. Measured readings are retained, not offered as proofs.
