How Much Does a Flight from the United States to Dubai Cost? Round-Trip Fares, Ticket Taxes and Nonstop Air Traffic from Fare-Search, Tariff and BTS T-100 Segment Data, 1998–2026
Dubai is a major long-haul destination from the United States, but fares, the fixed charges inside a ticket and the traffic on the route are published separately. We combine fare-search averages, US and Dubai tariff schedules and the Bureau of Transportation Statistics T-100 International Segment data. Over the 12 months to September 2026, a round trip from the United States to Dubai averaged USD 913; the monthly median ranged from USD 824 in October to USD 1,260 in December. At four gateways a one-stop itinerary via the cheapest connecting airport was USD 286 to USD 337 cheaper than the nonstop average, and across 36 states the average from the main airport ranged from USD 760 in Georgia to USD 1,642 in Hawaii. Government taxes and airport charges came to USD 113.25 per round trip, about 12.4% of the average fare, of which AED 140 (USD 38.12) were Dubai airport charges. Nonstop traffic rose from 29,120 passengers in 1998 to a peak of 3,227,946 in 2016, fell to 791,448 in 2020 and reached 2,890,357 in 2025, 94.3% of 2019; Emirates carried 93.5% of them, and 47.5% of the 9,254 flights used an Airbus A380. After the regional disruption of 28 February 2026, March 2026 flights fell to 34.9% of March 2025. Dubai International handled a record 95.2 million passengers in 2025. All computations are ratios and differences of published values.
