The Phantom Metric: Transient Non-Linear Damping and Phase Transition as a Complete Alternative to Cold Dark Matter
The enduring failure to directly detect Cold Dark Matter (CDM) particles necessitates a paradigm shift in our understanding of cosmological dynamics. In this letter, we propose the "Phantom Metric"—a novel framework based on a Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) action, modeling spacetime not as a passive vacuum, but as an active, Planck-frequency resonance grid. We demonstrate that the apparent effects of CDM in the early universe, specifically the acoustic peaks in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), emerge naturally from a primordial phase transition. During this epoch, baryonic matter injected at ultra-relativistic relative velocities experienced a transient, highly asymmetric geometric braking (Cosmic Bremsstrahlung) against the local expansion. By implementing a dynamically relaxing Phantom potential, we successfully reproduce the Planck satellite CMB TT power spectrum without invoking any dark matter particles. Our results indicate that the speed of light is a dynamically generated barrier—a scar of the initial cosmological phase transition—and that the universe subsequently relaxed into a kinematically frictionless superfluid state.
