Efficacy of Foliar Fungicides for Stripe Rust Inoculated on Winter Wheat ( Triticum aestivum ) in Michigan, 2024
Stripe rust caused by Puccinia striiformis var. tritici is a disease that causes yield losses across wheat production acres in the U.S and Canada. Stripe rust forms yellow to orange pustules in a stripe on wheat leaves. This study aimed to determine the efficacy of ten fungicides in suppression of stripe rust on the soft white winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivar “Ambassador” by disease rating and yield assessments in East Lansing, Michigan in 2024. The results illustrate that stripe rust can be significantly controlled by the correct choice of fungicide.
