The Zero-Derivative Paradox: Consciousness, Logic Errors, and Thermodynamic Entropy from the Underground
This essay presents a rigorous yet radically introspective philosophical inquiry into the nature of consciousness, operating at the intersection of analytic philosophy, information theory, and thermodynamics. Inspired by the Dostoevskian "Underground" archetype, the text investigates whether the concept of the "self" acts as a physical resistance against cosmic entropy or merely functions as a necessary, inevitable logical error within a self-observing universal simulation. By engaging with Wheeler’s participatory universe, Gödel’s incompleteness theorems, Landauer’s principle (linking information erasure to thermal dissipation), and Schrödinger’s negentropy, the author dismantles the illusion of objective detachment. Ultimately, the work frames the observer not as an external judge, but as a closed-loop paradox where reasoning, biological energy expenditure (glucose/oxygen dynamics), and cognitive entropy collapse into a single recursive system. A provocative synthesis of rigorous physical metaphors and raw philosophical manifesto-writing.
