Testing a Mass-Independent 1/r³ Central-Field Parameter Against Juno MAG Data: A Normalized Comparison of v²/4πr² with Jupiter's Magnetic Field
This preprint tests a mass-independent central-field parameter derived from orbital motion against independent spacecraft magnetometer measurements. The model defines: D_EM = v² / 4πr² and, using K² = r·v², yields: D_EM = K² / 4πr³ so that D_EM ∝ 1/r³ for an approximately constant central parameter K². The prediction is compared with published Juno MAG measurements of Jupiter’s background magnetic field. Across eight measurement points between 1.31 and 1.96 Jupiter radii, log–log regression gives B ∝ r^-2.99925 with R² = 0.9932. After normalization, the measured magnetic-field profile and the model profile remain close to one another, with a coefficient of variation of approximately 3.96%. The study does not claim equality between D_EM and magnetic field in physical units. Instead, it tests whether their radial scaling is quantitatively similar. The paper further develops predefined falsifiable predictions for the Mars–Phobos–Deimos and Earth–Moon systems, including a predicted B_Deimos/B_Phobos ratio of approximately 0.06372 and an ideal Earth-centered magnetic-field component of approximately 1.44 × 10^-10 T at the lunar farside. These predictions are proposed for future independent magnetometer testing as part of the broader Electromagnetic Architecture hypothesis.
