Endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma of eyelid: A case series of rare presentation

The purpose of the study is to describe the clinical features, diagnostic work-up, treatment, and outcomes of endocrine mucinous gland carcinoma of the eyelid, emphasising the importance of early recognition and surgical management. It was retrospective study of 3 cases diagnosed with endocrine mucin-producing sweat gland carcinoma of the eyelid. Clinical data were collected from records, including history, examination findings, imaging, surgical details, histopathology, immunohistochemistry and follow-up. All patients underwent wide local excision with metastatic workup and were followed up for 6 months postoperatively. This rare low-grade eyelid tumour may present as a firm, non-tender, lobulated mass and mimicking benign lesions. Early diagnosis is crucial. Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment. This carcinoma, though rare, should be considered in eyelid lesions. Wide local excision offers a good prognosis if diagnosed and treated early. Endocrine mucinous gland carcinoma may mimic benign eyelid lesions.
