Who Decides When an Application Needs the Internet?
Who decides when an application needs the Internet? I may open an application simply to work locally. Yet that application may communicate with several external systems. A legitimate reason to communicate is not necessarily the same as my intention to communicate. This paper explores network visibility, user intent and informed control through a simple question: What am I trying to do right now, and which doors need to be open for me to do it?
