Daytime oral minoxidil: a new question, and an open mechanism

Maas and colleagues report greater hair density gains with daytime than night-time low-dose oral minoxidil dosing in androgenetic alopecia. We comment on the interpretation of this effect and note that the proposed mitotic mechanism, derived from nocturnal mice, may not translate to humans.
