Enterprise Systems Simulation in Higher Education: Evaluating the Impact of Integrated ERP/CRM Labs on Student Mastery of Business Process Re-Engineering
Abstract The rapid and profound digital transformation of modern global enterprises has placed an unprecedented premium on business graduates who possess not only a robust theoretical understanding of enterprise architectures, but also hands-on, operational competency in configuring, navigating, and optimizing complex enterprise software ecosystems. Traditional management information systems and operations management pedagogy has historically relied on static case studies, conceptual textbooks, and disconnected exercises describing Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management platforms. This persistent pedagogical limitation results in a critical gap in student mastery of Business Process Re-Engineering, leaving recent graduates ill-prepared to navigate the operational friction, organizational data silos, structural workflow inefficiencies, and change management hurdles inherent in contemporary corporate restructuring.
