Energy-based partitioning: An efficient approach to time-series compression for energy systems modeling
The energy-based partitioning method is a data compression technique developed for time series used as input to energy system models (e.g., hourly renewable production profiles). It segments a time series into a configurable number of sequences and seasons using change-point detection.
