Polygraph in the legal framework of Ukraine: Formation and development prospects

The model of regulation of relations in the field of polygraph use in Ukraine was analyzed, which was relevant in the context of its growing application in many areas of society. The development context of polygraphology was outlined, within which the following models of regulation were identified: restrictive, liberal-permissive, institutionally integrated, and mixed. The main areas of polygraph use were highlighted: personnel selection and screening in the private and public sectors, criminal proceedings, civil disputes, personal and family conflicts, etc. Ukraine developed a mixed transitional model of regulation that combined permissive and institutional approaches to the use of the polygraph. This model included the specific features, such as lack of a systematic approach to regulating social relations, arising from the use of the polygraph in various areas of life. It was substantiated that this model constrained the development of the polygraph as a full-fledged, scientifically validated, and legally recognized tool capable of functioning effectively.
