Digitalization and Economic Development in India: Opportunities and Challenges
Abstract The Digital India Program has influenced how residents connect, learn, transact, and access public services throughout the country. Over the last 11 years, India has scaled up one of the world's largest Digital Public Infrastructure ecosystems. Digital platforms have increased access to health care, education, skill development, agriculture, and welfare services, particularly in rural and disadvantaged areas. India has also emerged as a world leader in digital payments and governance innovation. With India Stack now available in numerous countries, Digital India is cementing India's worldwide leadership in inclusive, citizen-centric, and technology-led development.
