Supplier Selection in the Textile Industry Using Hybrid Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Methods

Supplier selection is one of the most critical elements of supply chain management. This problem, involving multiple alternatives and criteria, necessitates the use of multi-criteria decision-making methods. This study addresses the supplier selection problem for a textile company. Seven criteria were identified based on a literature review and expert opinions, and their criterion weights were calculated using the objective MEREC method. Seven supplier alternatives were ranked using three hybrid models developed by integrating the CODAS, MABAC, and CoCoSo methods with MEREC. A compromise solution was obtained by combining the three different ranking results with the COPELAND method. Based on the analysis results, industry experience was determined to be the most important criterion. This study contributes to the supplier selection literature by integrating MEREC with three different ranking algorithms and presents a viable and innovative decision support model.
