The Sagnac Effect without Special Relativity and the Existence of the Aether

We calculate the value of the Sagnac effect by only using Newtonian mechanics and theGalilean speeds c±v without resorting to special relativity and Einstein’s imaginary spatiallength contraction, showing that the Sagnac effect does indicate the presence of the aetheras a necessary medium for light to travel.

Abstract

We calculate the value of the Sagnac effect by only using Newtonian mechanics and theGalilean speeds c±v without resorting to special relativity and Einstein’s imaginary spatiallength contraction, showing that the Sagnac effect does indicate the presence of the aetheras a necessary medium for light to travel.
