Dental Sinus: Cutaneous Clues to a Root Cause

A 76-year-old female presented with a dimpled, non-tender cystic lesion along the right mandible. Magnetic resonance imaging showed enhancement of the small superficial skin nodule connecting to the right lower second premolar tooth via a subcutaneous sinus tract; and periapical enhancement of the tooth suggestive of underlying dental caries. An urgent dental extraction of the diseased tooth was performed.
