AgenticSystemCore: Distributed Knowledge Bundles and Runnable Systems, for People and Agents

AgenticSystemCore is an open specification for publishing a body of knowledge that people and software agents can read, check and extend together. Knowledge is written as a folder of Markdown files. Each file has a short header and typed links to other files. A deterministic build turns the folder into web pages, a knowledge graph with a published vocabulary, a search index, a text file for agents, a set of citable text chunks, and one discovery document at a well-known web address. That document names the node's graph, ledger, text file for agents and otherentry points, and carries a SHA-256 digest on each artefact link, so a reader can check that what it fetched is what the publisher built. Fixed canonical forms, pinned by conformance test vectors, make the graph, the index, the chunks, the ledger and the discovery document byte-identical from one implementation to another. Every change, from a person or from an agent, arrives as a proposal carrying its provenance; a person merges it, or has ratified automatic merging once in the node's configuration. The history is republished as a hash chain. Typed links become properties of a published vocabulary aligned to SKOS, PROV-O and Dublin Core; the next version is planned tostate the meaning of each link type and to add a graph view, SKOS export and import, and SHACL shapes. The same folder serves six modes of use: a self-checking wiki, memory for agents, live project specifications, evolving skills, knowledge composed into a starting architecture, and a live board on which people and agents pull work. Thepaper describes specification version 1.0.0-rc.6. At the time of writing, that version defines 332 rules under 343 permanent identifiers, 91 error codes, 171 conformance vectors and a 52-term vocabulary, and its reference engine passes every live vector. © 2026 Andrei N. Abstract
