Metoidioplasty in a case of 46 XY disorder of sexual development: Technical considerations for masculinizing genitoplasty
ABSTRACT Metoidioplasty is a type of genital reconstruction surgery used in female-to-male transsexuals. It involves lengthening and straightening of a hormonally hypertrophied clitoris to create a neophallus, urethral lengthening to enable voiding while standing, and scrotoplasty. It offers a less invasive alternative to total phalloplasty, particularly for patients not seeking penetrative sexual intercourse.
