Robotic suprarenal cavectomy for level II inferior vena cava tumor thrombus: A step-by-step technique and technical refinements
ABSTRACT Surgical repair of a level II inferior vena cava (IVC) tumor thrombus is a technical challenge because it requires achieving complete vascular control and ensuring safe thrombus extraction. In this video, we aim to highlight surgical technical principles. A 66-year-old female with a history of anemia was incidentally found to have a 15-cm right renal mass and level II IVC tumor thrombus. No intraoperative or postoperative complications were observed, and the patient had a 2-day hospital stay. Adherence to meticulous vascular dissection, sequential control of tributaries, and careful handling of tumor thrombus are essential to optimize oncological outcomes.
