ACES AI Practice Lab: Workshop Presentation and Companion Web Applications
Materials from Validating AI for Extension Programming: Practice, review, keep., a 35-minute hands-on workshop for Alabama Extension Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resources (AFNR) specialists, presented at the AFNR Team Statewide Meeting, Alabama 4-H Center, Columbiana, Alabama, on September 29, 2026. The package contains a 14-slide PowerPoint presentation and two companion web applications: the participant Practice Lab (aces-statewide-ai-workshop.netlify.app) and the presenter Instructor Workbench (aces-ai-instructor-workbench.netlify.app). The Practice Lab guides specialists through five activities: set a purpose, check the task against Auburn University's AI guidance, build a structured prompt, review the output, and export their work. Both applications are dependency-free static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that store entries only in the user's browser and hand prompts to Microsoft Copilot by manual copy and paste. See README.md in the package to run them locally. Slide 9 uses a deliberately flawed fictional flyer as a teaching example. The materials reflect the authors' views, not official policy of Auburn University or the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
