The Voynich Manuscript "Apparatus" Drawings and the Distillation-Apparatus Tradition: A Divergence-Dominant Comparison
Within the inspected Voynich substrate and named comparator set, the imagery is containment- and immersion-dominant and the record contains no supported identification of a depicted still, alembic, retort, athanor, condensing arm, receiver flask, or furnace. This is an inventory-bounded divergence finding, not a universal proof that no apparatus-like form occurs anywhere in the manuscript. The decisive Quire-13 tube-topology comparison and direct image inspection of several external apparatus witnesses remain open. No direct-transmission or source-identity claim is made.
