Assessment of Frangipani Leaf (Plumeria alba) Extract in Topical Formulations for Wrinkle Reduction and Collagen Stimulation

Abstract Introduction: One of many medicinal plants, frangipani leaf ( Plumeria alba ) extract has long been used in herbal medicine because of its therapeutic properties, which include antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. Frangipani leaf phytochemical components have been shown to have strong free radical scavenging activity, suggesting that they may be able to stop oxidative damage and early skin ageing. Herbal anti-ageing cream with frangipani leaf extract offers safe, natural and effective skin rejuvenation. Materials and Methods: Fresh frangipani leaves were gathered, thoroughly cleaned, allowed to dry in the shade and then ground into a fine powder. The powdered material was extracted for several hours using ethanol in a Soxhlet apparatus. The resultant extract was filtered and concentrated under low pressure using a rotary evaporator. After that, please store at 4°C for further analysis. Results: Using phytochemical screening in 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2’-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) and hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) tests, frangipani leaf ( P. alba ) extract was shown to include flavonoids, phenolics, tannins and alkaloids with strong antioxidant activity. The potential of hydrogen, viscosity, spreadability, stability and homogeneity of the cream were all at optimal levels. Biocompatibility tests confirmed safety, suitability and absence of haemolysis or irritation. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that frangipani leaf ( P. alba ) extract is suitable for anti-ageing products due to its potent antioxidants and skin-protective properties. The resulting herbal cream showed excellent physicochemical stability and biocompatibility without toxicity or irritation. Frangipani leaf extract is a safe, effective and natural ingredient in anti-wrinkle cream.
