Influence of State Versus Trait Gratitude on Team Cohesion and Team Performance: Pre-experimental Studies Among Students’ Teams
By investigating the beneficial effects of gratitude in a team context, this study examines gratitude and its influence on team cohesion and performance. This study explored the relationship between gratitude and team cohesion and performance through a pre-experimental study conducted among the ad hoc teams of student samples ( N = 18) in India. The study also examined the influence of trait vs. state gratitude. The study used the Gratitude Questionnaire–6 scale to measure gratitude. The analysis indicated that gratitude positively influences team performance and team cohesion. The influence of state gratitude was more significant than that of trait gratitude. These findings emphasize the role of gratitude in team processes and extend gratitude theories to the team level.
