Turismo gastronómico y su impacto económico, Feria de la Butifarra Jalpa de Méndez Tabasco
This study analyzes the economic impacts of gastronomic tourism on the community, stemming from the Butifarra Festival held in 2025 in the municipality of Jalpa de Méndez, Tabasco. The main objective is to examine these economic effects and determine whether the festival has fostered community development. A qualitative methodology was employed, prioritizing documentary and historical research techniques along with content analysis. The results reveal the economic benefits for producers and the municipality, as well as the collaborative relationship between the municipal government and the Butifarra producers. Recommendations to boost tourism and increase the economic impact include improving hotel and transportation infrastructure specifically modernizing the roads connecting the municipality with the state capital and neighboring areas—and launching a broad national promotional campaign through the media to expand the reach of the Butifarra gastronomic tourism offering.
