Una revisión crítica del Archivo Histórico Provincial de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, obra del arquitecto Andrés Perea Ortega

In this paper, we present a critical review of the architectural contribution of Andrés Perea Ortega, focusing on the study of the Provincial Historical Archive of Tenerife. To undertake this task, we start with a comprehensive understanding of the general context of his work, where the experimental curiosity of this unique architect is combined with the technical and practical expertise of an experienced builder. Through a comparative analysis of this building in relation to other pieces in his portfolio, we distil a set of guidelines that not only help us better understand this structure but also provide insight into how Perea approached his commissions. Working on the solution defined for Tenerife, we unravel the know-how of other buildings designed by Perea. By analysing the urban, landscape, formal, functional and constructive conditions of this work, we quickly discern that we can group his legacy into clearly recognisable projective families.
