Conflictos no resueltos: El patrimonio inmaterial, identidades y reconstrucciones
The recognition of intangible heritage implicitly involves multiple points of intersection with the construction of identity—an inherent feature of any social group that lays claim to a cultural legacy. To explore these interrelations, this text examines three key historical moments, each marking a significant turning point in the evolving consciousness of modernity: the French Revolution, the Second Industrial Revolution and the Digital Revolution. By tracing the historical awareness of heritage, engaging with the profound transformations introduced by the Second Industrial Revolution and, ultimately, considering the shifts in temporal and spatial experience brought about by the so-called third environment, we are able to establish essential connections between the formation of intangible heritage and contemporary dynamics of identity formation and assertion.
