Regulating Nonnative Aquatic Species in China Under a Revised Fisheries Law
ABSTRACT China has enacted a revised Fisheries Law to support sustainability of aquatic resources, with a key feature of strengthening management of nonnative aquatic species. Despite this significant step forward, we suggest the revised law to clarify legal ambiguities in definitions, implement nationwide biosurveillance network and mandate science‐based risk assessments to better mitigate the negative impacts of aquatic invasions.
